Tasting Notes:

(Batch 2)
This is listed as the only 100% copper pot-distilled Bourbon made. The grain bill adds wheat in addition to the traditional mix of corn, rye, and barley.
Rich orangey amber color.
Beautiful nose with a much more pronounced cereally malted barley note than most bourbon. There are hints of peppermint, rye fruit, vanilla, and brown sugar.
The pot-distillation is very evident on the palate as the mouthfeel is much more oily and rich than a typical bourbon. The flavor has a rich cereally grain character. There are notes of mint, very sweet brown brown sugar, and rye fruit and spice up front. The mid-palate is defined by the cereally grain. Wheat and barley show through but there is enough corn/bourbon sweetness to compliment it well. Oak is there but it is well integrated into the complexity of flavor.
On the finish the grainy character passes and you are left with honey, vanilla, and subtle mint.
This product may come as a shock to traditional bourbon fans. It has an almost scotch-like mid-palate of grain and a fantastic rich mouthfeel. Truly unique and well-worth trying if you can find it.
